Hi, I'm Kim. I've been a fan of River's for twenty years. It puts a smile on my heart to see River being loved and remembered by so many on the internet. He was such a special soul. Whenever I go to a bookstore, I see books on Elvis...James Dean...Marilyn Monroe...but not River. I feel there's a whole generation who need to know him.

I guess there are 5 books. From what I hear, Barry's book is the one to get. When it comes to book stores, the books on River need to be ordered.

Ya a lot of the kids out there only know him from stand my me. But I did see explores playing at a babysitters a few months ago. He will always be A list. People will find his work. A lot of his work has aged well. A couple not so much, but that good also, it book marks the time they where made.

I agree, but there are more young people aware of him than I thought. I realized that when I found this site and read some of the posts.

I feel kind of old on here actually, but I'm sure there's some folks that are nearer to my age somewhere. lol ...I'm 43, almost 44, by the way.

As far as the mass media though, he is being forgotten. On the one hand, it's bad - on the other it's good because I think River hated being so "visible" and all that high profile stuff.

Maybe this "underground" thing is much more meaningful because it's people who connect to him and his work in a genuine way. Know what I mean?
