Okay..I know some people don't like Corey, but I think he's a decent guy and I think he was sincere in his admiration of River's talent and in trying to help him before he passed. He attempted to talk to River about his drug use and River was in denial.

So, on that note, I read the other day in one of those celebrity magazines, I think it was Star (yes, I know...they're trash and I read them anyway ) that his wife filed for divorce after 7 years of marriage (that old seven year itch, as they say) and she's asking for sole custody of their child.

I just thought it was sad because he seemed like he had gotten his life together after being well on his way to leaving this earth just like River did. ...

Hey Kathy (:
Firstly, don't feel guilty about reading 'trashy magazines' - I too have an addiction to them, I like to think my English Literature course at university where I'm currently studying the likes of Kafka balances it out and allows me this guilty pleasure (:
Secondly, this is sad news but I do believe that sometimes a person has to lose everything before they truly appreciate what they had and really 'get their act together.'
And of course none of us know what goes on behind closed doors, his wife had stayed with him and accepted all his flaws and maybe she just couldn't take anymore.
I do believe its unfair to take their problems out on the child though - unless Corey had proved to be an unfit father (which of course none of us could know) - he should be allowed regular access to his child.

Hi Sarah! Thanks for backing me up on the trashy magazine addiction! I do take what they say with a grain of salt, but I saw this thing about Corey in 2 different ones. She is claiming all kinds of stuff about him. He's controlling, he "made her" have kinky sex....whatever.

I cannot imagine what it must be like to have your personal life magnified and examined by the world the way these people do. Of course, I don't help by BUYING the magazines and reading them. {sigh}....I need help.

I had the opportunity to meet Corey Feldman in June of this year. From what it sounded like, he was doing pretty well and seemed happy. Touring with his band, making his music, and so on. I know he talked a few times about visitng his son, Zen. So, at least he has some kind of visitation/custody which is wonderful.
