| Hey guys.
Hope you are all enjoying your summer, first of all.
I was just thinking about the fact that River's 40th birthday is coming up. One month, more or less, so we should do something to celebrate him.
I have an idea, but I welcome others of course.
On PeTA there is a True Friends Memorial, where you can donate money in memory of someone.
A snippet from PeTA "PETA's True Friends Memorials honor and preserve the memory of those animals who were our true friends as well as extraordinary people who were true friends to animals."
We all know River was very passionate about PeTA and animal welfare, so I was thinking that we could all make a donation to PeTA in memory of River. And as luck would have it, a page in memory of River has already been made:

How cool would it be if all of us donated in honor of River on the exact date of what is his 40th birthday?
Hope you're all with me on this 
BTW, I know people use past tense when talking about River, but I WILL NOT DO THAT! To me it is not what would have been his birthday. It is his birthday. The past tense thing makes me sad

| This is a wonderful idea and I think River will be proud of all of us if we helped a cause that he was so true to and so passionate about.
In August I'm moving away to Canada and starting college, the move will be pretty pricey, but I will definitely try to find the money to donate to the fund

| Thanks for the great idea, Simone! Are you the Simone who's already donated? I'm thinking NOT, since you were suggesting to donate on his birthday. But what a coincidence that the person's name is Simone too. Anyways, I couldn't wait so I went ahead and matched the first donation
By the way, sorry to go against Hel's suggestion, but I would recommend you guys NOT create a new memorial. C'mon, this person's trying to reach $1000 in River's name. We can help reach that goal or even surpass it instead of rivaling it with another similar memorial. What's the point, in River's name is in River's name. No need for duplications. Not only that, but there's this note once you click to donate:
"**Memorial gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated. With a donation of $100 or more, your memorial will also be acknowledged on a special recognition page in PETA's Annual Review, a keepsake publication highlighting our past year's accomplishments in behalf of animals."
I don't know if I'm understanding this correctly, but it sounds like if we can at least get $100 (only $40 more to go) then River will be acknowledged in PETA's annual review report. I think it would be nice to get him in every year so his name will be reflected every year. This really would be a nice keepsake. Let's get in $1000 by Riv's birthday or year-end!!!
