Hi Lynzy! Well, in "A River Runs Through It" he wanted to play Brad Pitt's
part, and even talked with Robert Redford about it, or vis-versa, and seemed
understanding when he was not chosen for the part as he wanted the best
person for it because he thought the script was so great..... personally I
think it would have been ironic had he gotten the part, not only because of
the title, but the character was a risk taker and died young like River in
real life. Brad played the youngest brother who was killed. I think River
was offered Sneakers as a consolation prize, imho, by Redford for passing on
him. I personally don't think River did a very good job in Sneakers, he
seemed distracted and detached, but one good thing came of it, he met up with
Dan Akroyd who was a good role model for him. I can't think of the
character's name at the moment that Brad plays, it escapes me. Someone else
can help you there. It was based on a true story, and it's been awhile sense
I have seen it. I think Brad did a good job in the role, but to me, Brad is
just a pretty face with talent. River was a pretty everything, with
tremendous talent along with great DEPTH..... something I think pretty boy
Pitt doesn't possess. He's too narcissistic imho, and outward beauty only
goes so far until one gets bored.
